Turning a Freezer Into a Studio

The Dream

I’ve always wanted my own space to create and record music. I decided to take the jump and convert an old restaurant walk-in freezer in my backyard that was being used as a storage shed. With the help of my dad, I was able to transform it from start to finish. Anything from drywall to the electrical was all done by hand. Nearly all of the wood that was used on the inside was reclaimed wood from the trees around our house. This studio now serves as the home base for Tyrelle Sound and helps story tellers meet their audio vision.

One summer, and lots of sweat later, the home base for Tyrelle Sound is finally here.
